Own Your Budget – It’s nearly June 30…is your budget sorted?

Is your budget sorted for the new financial year?

As some of you approach the end of a financial year (ending June 30), here are some key questions to consider:

Do you have an approved copy of your budget?

Any changes from actuals are identified and action plans assigned?

Have all the budget owners in your organisation been briefed?

If you answered “Yes” to all three, then you are ready for the new budget year.

Is your forecast sorted for the remainder of the year?

For those of you whose financial year ends on December 31, here are some key questions to consider:

Do you have a revised forecast for the rest of the year?

Any changes from budget are explained and action plans assigned where required?

Is this revised forecast forming the basis for your 2025 budget?

If you answered “Yes” to all three, then you are ready to tackle the last 6 months of the budget year.

Own your budget so it doesn’t own you.
